Duration: 10 Months (Jan - October 2019)
High level outcome:
The project implementation started 2 months late due to contract negotiation with external vendor but allowed the project Delivery team to complete Environment Discovery exercises to ensure that all Application testing had been completed, and we had a clear understanding of all the affected users. Most importantly to define a detailed roll-out processes that agreed before executing and desktop changes. Setup and build of the Desktop Build Room. As a result the implementation happened very quickly replacing users desktops with laptops for mobility and smart working capabilities and users were very satisfied. There were delays due to incompatibility between Windows 10 and key application systems. These were carefully managed to ensure no business interruptions to the business. These were managed until their final implementation before allowing the affected users to be migrated, and the project to close. Once all the users were had their new equipment the project went into auditing & reconciliation of totals of hardware decommissioned and hardware commissioned. All data needed to be loaded into the CMDB on both accounts. The project was complete on-time and well within budget.
